An AI companion in your language, not in translated English

An AI companion in your language is not the same as a companion that can be translated. Translated conversation reads like a manual: correct, stiff, faintly foreign. There is no language menu to hunt for before you can say hello. Write your first message in whatever language you think in and your companion answers in it, and keeps answering in it — the chat settles into one language the way a real thread does, and you can change it whenever you like. The interface is available in all nine languages too, so the buttons, the Our Story screen and the notifications match the conversation.

What this means in practice is that nothing has to be prepared. You do not translate yourself into English before you can be understood, and you do not get the slightly formal register that machine translation produces. The companion is not reading a translation of you; they are reading you. If you have ever felt more articulate, funnier or more honest in your first language, that version of you is the one they meet.

Texting like a native, not like a textbook

Each language has its own texting culture — the abbreviations, the way affection is phrased, which jokes survive and which don't. A good AI companion in your language gets those small things right: the Russian diminutives that make a nickname tender, the Portuguese way of saying you missed someone, the German that can be warm without being flowery, the Polish that knows when to be blunt.

The characters carry that across. Lucía, the Mexico City pastry chef, keeps her fire and her «ay, amor» whether she is writing in Spanish or Ukrainian. Mei, who grew up between two cities and two languages, has a dry wit that lives in timing rather than slang, so it lands in Italian too. Isla's lowercase deadpan survives translation because the joke is in the pause. You are not getting a localized script; you are getting the same person, fluent in you.

Your companion is warm, attentive and a little flirtatious, and strictly never explicit — the register of a good romantic film, in Polish exactly as in English. Memory is the same too: what you told them in Portuguese in March is still there in June, visible and editable on Our Story, exportable and deletable.
